Absolute Aqua Sports is pleased to announce the Ante Up Freestyle Jump Competition during the Wake Sports Festival August 15th – 20th, 2017. This festival is a multiple day event featuring Disabled Waterski clinics for skiers and instructors, the National Hydrofoil Tournament and the Ante Up freestyle jump competition with finals to be held in the evening under the bright lights of RAJ Stadium! Concessions available, admission is FREE! The Individual Freestyle Competition and Team Jump will be Saturday August 19th.
The individual freestyle competition will begin at 6:00pm with the intermediate division and then advance division. Teams will begin at 7:00pm. Entries will be taken on a first come, first serve basis. Spots are limited and the deadline for entering will be August 16th, 2017. The entry fee will be $50 per individual jump entry or $75 for team jump. Awards and prizes will go to 1st – 3rd place in EACH division. Any individual or team canceling on August 16th, 2017 or after, will forfeit their entry fees.
The running order will be determined by the order of the entry postmark/email date and the running order will be posted on the website and emailed to competitors. We will supply one towboat with a quick release and a competent tested boat driver who will be used by all of the competitors. You may supply your own pin person or we can supply one for you. Individual competitors may check in at the Rock Aqua Jays Show Site (in front of the concession stand) Saturday, August 18th, between 5:00 and 5:30 (safety meeting at 5:45). Once individual competitors are completely registered, you are to be around the starting dock 2 individuals prior to your scheduled time slot.
Each skier will have a total of 3 jumps. The 2 highest jumps score. There is no time limit for each competitor and you may switch out skis between jumps if needed.
* Please note there will be a 49’ buoy from the center of the jump ramp on the right side of the 6’ft jump ramp, along with a 70′ distance buoy.
Intermediate – Any jumps from ride overs to gainers.
Advance – Open to any jump.
We will be using the Degree of Difficulty (DOD) chart from the NSSA rulebook.
